Hi, my name is Kylie James and I’m a fourth year journalism student at San Diego State University. I’m originally from Hawaii, moved to Irvine in my sophomore year of high school and transferred to SDSU from Orange Coast College in 2024. Now that I’m SDSU, I’m so excited to finally be on a path towards graduation. At JMS 430, I hope to learn more about the intricacies and nuances of digital journalism. After graduation, I hope to pursue a career in journalism with a respected publication. Ideally, I’d love to focus on opinion or news writing. But I’m also willing to step out of my comfort zone and explore different topics. I’m particularly interested in writing about sustainability, politics, feminism and ethical dilemmas we face as a society. More importantly, I look forward to learning about myself and exploring different perspectives.
